Dimensions, weight, and battery life below are our target reference specifications for sourced hardware in this device class — they will be confirmed and updated once units are manufactured and independently tested, not presented as certified figures today.

How it is used

How it is used
Attached to a school bag rather than worn on the body. Useful for confirming a child left school or arrived home, without carrying a wearable directly.
How a device talks to ChildTrace
- 1. Position fix — the device gets a GPS/GNSS fix on its normal schedule, or immediately after an SOS press or safe-zone crossing.
- 2. Cellular upload — the reading is sent over 2G/LTE-M to the ChildTrace device-ingestion API, authenticated to that specific device.
- 3. Geofence check — the platform compares the position against the guardian's configured safe zones and logs the point.
- 4. Alert, if needed — an unexpected exit or an SOS press notifies the guardian in-app, by SMS, and by WhatsApp where a phone number is on file.
This pipeline — pairing, geofencing, multi-channel alerts, and SOS — is implemented and running today; only the physical hardware is pending manufacture.
